  1. ...gary oldman...v. cool actor, 'n cool 'e's one of few conservative thesps..'n 'e's right...talent is ultimately a gift from God...yeah, u can train the basics, but if "it" ain't there..it ain't..now, we need to be wary, lest we fall into bein' precious.. our version of medicine's "god complex" ("we're "creator's""; no u ain't, that's God's work).. possibly, like the moon, we may reflect the Su/on....humility w/in th' above truth..my tuppence, anyway.. :=/

    1. I fully agree - being "precious" about our craft can be alienating. As an actor, my interest is in helping audiences experience a story that they can see themselves in.

Thanks for reading, and for commenting!

  3. This is so terrible in such a wonderful way. I sorta agree with him. But at the same time...it's Hollywood! Unfortunate as it may be, huge talent and refined craft don't add up to a career. Not even good looks and high charisma do it. More than anything else, luck is the great equalizer.

    1. Luck, related to building relationships... It just so happens that many of those relationships are not artistic in nature. :)
